Pumpkin Days and Hay Maze

We visited Wheeler Farm for "Pumpkin Days and Hay Maze".  A little disappointing, but Isabel still loved it.  We did a hay ride, walked around, did the maze a couple times, and picked out our pumpkins.  Elliot slept through it all!

Home time

Has Elliot been here almost 2 weeks already?  We had our first week at the hospital/at home with Franz's help, and I survived my first week at home on my own, thanks to lots of help, daycare 2 days a week for Isabel, and lots of excellent meals brought by friends/family/the ward.  Funny to think Elliot was due in 2 days (October 28th), glad he is here already!

Everyone wants to snuggle with mom!

Isabel is doing a great job as a big sister

It's a boy!!!

We are so excited to welcome a new baby boy into our family.  Elliot Javier Monroy was born October 15th, 2012, at 2:17 pm, weighing 6lb 15 oz and measuring 20.75 inches.

The delivery went great.  I had a normal day on Sunday (I did walk for an hour that morning), and slept normally, but woke up for work at 6:30 with regular contractions every 3 minutes.  I still got ready for work, send Isabel off to daycare and Franz off to work.  I decided to cancel my morning for work, but still thought I could be coming in later.  But by 8:30 they were getting stronger, so I called Franz and told him to come get me and take his time.  By 9:30 I was calling wondering where he was since I was now in pain.  He got home soon, and we arrived at the hospital tat 10:15.  I was initially only dialated to a 3.  Franz picked up Isabel from daycare and brought her by - she was a little nervous to see me in the hospital bed.  I  got the epidural and had my water broken at 12:30 (now dialated to a 4), then 1 hour later I was complete and ready to go!  Franz was still gone (dropping Isabel off at great-grandmas), but he made it back.  We waited for the doctor, pushed a few times and a little boy joined us!

Isabel's first encounter wasn't the greatest.  She had fallen asleep on the way there and was a little grumpy anyway.  She had no interest in Elliot, but by the time she left she did give him a little kiss on the head with some prodding.  The next day she did much better, I love the way she says "Elliot" and she loves calling herself the big sister.

I am not sure how I feel about this little guy.

Ok, I think I like him.

Just the three of us....

A few pics to catch up on the last couple weeks.  The new babe should be here soon, so this may be Isabel's last solo post.  :)

We went to the State Fair last month.  This is a required tradition since the state fair was what put me into labor with Isabel 3 years ago.  :)
Ashley, Isabel, and cow.  :)

The goats were a favorite

What is the fair without fair food?  Ice cream
coated in sprinkles.  :)

We went miniature golfing, a new experience.

I am starting to regret the new birthday gifts.  We now
have daily tea parties, cupcake cooking, and grocery
shopping.  I love it!

Mini pet shop tea parties too.

Getting excited for Halloween - Isabel helped decorate cookies.

First visit to the dentist!  She did amazingly well.
I am also impressed by her memory - when she drove by
the dentists office 4 days later she said: "That is where
I got my teeth cleaned!!"

Loves always telling dad that Stanford is number one!
(He tries to get her to cheer for UCLA, but she knows
which school is the best!!)
